⚡ The quick take
Moneyline first: American odds tell you the implied chance of a win
Run line is usually +/-1.5, so it can't push
World Series 2026: Rays vs Brewers, from October 23; now the off-season, when futures open
Baseball held 6.85% in Nevada over 12 months to July 2026
Baseball reads differently from the other big sports. There’s no points spread at the top of the market, just a moneyline with prices like -150 and +130, and the handicap is fixed at a run and a half. Learn to read those numbers and every baseball market opens up. We pulled the 2026 postseason dates from MLB’s own pages, worked the odds maths and lined up what books held on baseball against other sports.
🍁 The Blue Jays and the 2026 postseason
The Toronto Blue Jays are Canada’s only MLB team, and they missed the 2026 postseason. The 2026 World Series was an all-American affair: the Tampa Bay Rays against the Milwaukee Brewers, per MLB’s World Series FAQ.
Once the Series ends, baseball goes quiet until spring and the betting year shifts to hockey, football and basketball. That makes the off-season the natural time for futures: next year’s World Series winner or the Blue Jays’ season. Futures tie up your stake for months and carry heavier margins, which the props and futures guide explains.
Reading a baseball moneyline
Most baseball bets start with the moneyline, quoted in American odds. Minus prices show what you stake to win C$100; plus prices show what C$100 wins. Each one converts to an implied probability, which is the number that matters.

If you think a team wins more often than its implied probability, the price looks long to you; if less often, short. The book’s margin sits in the gap between the two sides: add the implied probabilities of both teams and anything above 100% is what you pay. Our odds-reading guide covers this step by step, and the odds converter does it in one click.
How baseball markets settle
Moneyline. The winner of the game, usually including extra innings. Check the label if a book offers a version that doesn’t.
Run line. Baseball’s spread, nearly always +/-1.5 runs. The favourite at -1.5 must win by two or more; the underdog at +1.5 covers with a win or a one-run loss. Half-run lines can’t push. Because the favourite now needs a two-run margin, its run-line price is longer than its moneyline price; compare the two before you choose.
Total. Combined runs against a line. Half-run totals (8.5) settle cleanly; a whole-number total (8) can push, and the stake comes back.
Parts of the game. Some books offer markets on the first five innings or single innings, settled only on that stretch. Each book’s rules decide how they settle, so read them before you bet. Our explainer on moneylines, spreads and totals covers the same mechanics across sports, including how the run line compares with hockey’s puck line on the hockey page.
🧮 What books keep on baseball
A two-way market at -110 on both sides carries a 4.55% margin: each side implies 52.38%, the pair adds to 104.76%, and the payout is 95.45%. Baseball moneylines are often priced at uneven numbers such as -150 / +130, but the method is the same: add both implied probabilities and see how far past 100% they go. Over a full year, Nevada’s regulator shows what books actually kept.
Baseball held 6.85%, below the 7.69% all-sports figure and close to basketball. Hold isn’t a fixed price on any one bet; it’s what a regulator recorded books keeping over twelve months. Our bookmaker margin guide shows how to calculate the margin on the line in front of you.
Parlays and props
A full MLB slate invites the big parlay: five or six moneylines on one ticket. Each leg multiplies the odds and the margin compounds with them. On -110 coin-flips, a two-leg parlay hits 25% of the time with an 8.88% built-in edge; four legs hit 6.25% with about 17% edge; six legs hit 1.56% with 24.36% edge, all computed from the -110 margin. Run your own slip through the parlay calculator before you place it, and see the parlay betting guide for how same-game parlays are repriced.
Player props (strikeouts, hits, home runs, total bases) are priced by each book, and no credible public table of prop margins exists. Compare both sides of a prop and add the implied probabilities, the same way you would on a moneyline.
Live baseball
Baseball’s pace looks slow, but in-play markets reprice after every pitch and every at-bat, and the stops between them leave room for a bet every minute. A scoping study by Killick and Griffiths found in-play betting “has the potential to be more harmful” than other forms because of its fast, continuous bet opportunities, though the authors say the evidence isn’t yet definitive. Our guide to live betting and cash out shows how to judge a cash-out offer: the fair value is the potential return divided by the current decimal odds of the bet winning.
🍁 Baseball at the provincial books
Outside Ontario and Alberta, the provinces run their own sports products, and each prices baseball its own way. PlayNow Sports, run by BCLC, has had single-event betting since August 27, 2021, the day Bill C-218 came into force, and offers a live betting section. Quebec’s Mise-o-jeu shows decimal odds, takes single bets and multiplies the odds of each selection on a combo; its page shows no in-play section, and Loto-Québec states it may modify the odds at its discretion. In the Prairies and the territories, the retail Sport Select slip lists futures such as “To Win World Series”, with wagers from C$2 to C$100 and a C$250,000 prize limit.
Comparing the provincial price with an offshore price on the same game is the simplest check on margin you can make. Our guide to Canadian sports betting law explains how the two systems sit side by side.
Where the offers fit
The cards above show every sportsbook we cover that lists baseball, for players aged 19 or over outside Ontario and Alberta. The full ranking is on the betting sites page, and current welcome offers, free bets and boosts are on the sports bonus page. Read how rollover at minimum odds works in our sports bonuses guide before you claim, since a heavy baseball favourite can price below a bonus’s minimum odds. In British Columbia, Saskatchewan and Manitoba, PlayNow is the provincial option; in Quebec it’s Mise-o-jeu. The books on this page are licensed outside Canada, so provincial self-exclusion doesn’t reach them. The sports betting hub has the wider picture, and the football page and basketball page cover the sports that take over in the fall.
Bet baseball with limits
A regular season with games nearly every day makes baseball the easiest sport to bet daily. Pick your days, set a deposit limit, and treat raising stakes to get back a losing week as a warning sign. The Lower-Risk Gambling Guidelines suggest gambling no more than 4 days a month and no more than 1% of household income. Our bankroll guide shows how to size stakes, and the responsible gambling page lists every provincial helpline. In Quebec, Jeu : aide et référence answers 24/7 at 1-800-461-0140.
You stake C$150 to win C$100 profit. In decimal that's 1.67, and the implied probability is 60%. A plus price works the other way: +150 means C$100 wins C$150 profit, which is 2.50 in decimal and 40% implied. The odds converter does these in one step.
What is the run line in baseball?
Baseball's spread, almost always 1.5 runs. The favourite at -1.5 has to win by two or more runs; the underdog at +1.5 covers with a win or a one-run loss. Because the line ends in .5, the bet can't push.
Does a baseball moneyline include extra innings?
Usually yes: the standard moneyline in baseball normally includes extra innings. Some books also offer markets on the first five innings or other parts of the game that settle earlier. Each book writes its own rules, so read the market label before you bet.
Who played in the 2026 World Series?
The Tampa Bay Rays and the Milwaukee Brewers. Milwaukee won Game 1 on October 23, 3-2, and the series was scheduled to end by October 31 at the latest. The Toronto Blue Jays, Canada's only MLB team, didn't reach the 2026 postseason.
Can I bet on the Blue Jays from Canada?
Yes, through the provincial site where you live (PlayNow in B.C., Saskatchewan and Manitoba, Mise-o-jeu in Quebec) or through the sportsbooks on this page, which are licensed outside Canada and serve players aged 19+ outside Ontario and Alberta.
