Live Casino: Game Shows and Real Dealers

Real dealers, real wheels, multipliers up to 20,000x on Crazy Time. Live casino is the most social way to play, and the RTPs are published. The catch: live games barely count toward bonus wagering, if at all.

✓ Updated

  • Live blackjack and baccarat carry the lowest house edges, around 1%
  • ⚠️ Live casino counts 0%-2% toward wagering, or is excluded
  • Stakes start low: game shows commonly from C$0.10-C$0.50 a round

What live casino is

Live casino streams real tables and game-show wheels from studios, with human dealers and hosts running every round. You bet through on-screen buttons; the dealer deals, spins or draws, and the result settles on your screen. It’s the same maths as the digital versions of roulette, blackjack and baccarat, played at the pace of a real table.

Two studio groups supply most of it. Evolution, founded in 2006 in Stockholm, is the dominant live studio, behind Lightning Roulette, Crazy Time, Monopoly Live, Dream Catcher and Deal or No Deal. It also owns Ezugi, another live dealer brand. Evolution runs a Vancouver studio that grew out of its partnership with the BC Lottery Corporation. Pragmatic Play Live runs Mega Wheel, Sweet Bonanza CandyLand, Mega Roulette, ONE Blackjack and Free Bet Blackjack, with roulette broadcast from Bucharest.

🎰 Game shows: RTP side by side

Game shows are wheels and bonus rounds with a host: spin, land a segment, sometimes trigger a multiplier round. They’re built for entertainment, and their RTPs are published or derived from the rules.

The headline numbers cluster around 96%, close to a typical slot. The trap is that wheel games don’t pay the same on every bet. Dream Catcher’s 54-segment wheel has 52 numbered segments (1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 40) and two multiplier segments; the house edge runs from 3.42% on the 10 to 9.19% on the 40. The long-shot segments look exciting and cost the most. Evolution’s Dream Catcher page lays out the wheel.

Max wins are big and rare: 20,000x on Crazy Time per Evolution’s game page, 30,000x on Deal or No Deal Live, 10,000x on Funky Time, and 500x on Lightning Roulette and Monopoly Live as listed.

The big four, in a paragraph each

Lightning Roulette (Evolution, 2018) is a single-zero roulette game with multiplier payouts listed up to 500x. Its 97.30% RTP gives a 2.70% house edge, exactly the same as a standard European wheel, which makes it the best-value game show on the chart.

Dream Catcher (Evolution, 2017) is the classic money wheel and the one where your choice of bet matters most. Backing the 10 gives the house 3.42%; backing the 40 gives it 9.19%. Same wheel, same spin, nearly three times the edge.

Crazy Time (Evolution, launched July 2020) is a money wheel with bonus rounds, published at 96.08% RTP. Evolution’s FAQ lists a 20,000x top multiplier, and the same page cites a 25,000x Cash Hunt record from 11 December 2022.

Monopoly Live (Evolution) runs a 54-segment wheel: 48 numbered segments, two Chance segments, three “2 Rolls” and one “4 Rolls”. It’s listed at 96% RTP with a 500x top win.

Pragmatic Play’s Mega Wheel and Money Time fill the same role in its lobby, but Pragmatic doesn’t publish their RTPs on its live casino page, so we leave them off the chart. As with slots, RTP describes a very long run of rounds. A single evening can land far from it, and the five-figure multipliers are rare by design.

Live tables: the low-edge end

If the house edge is what you care about, the live tables beat the wheels. Live roulette, blackjack and baccarat use the same maths as their table versions, with a few rule variants of their own.

Standard live blackjack with basic strategy sits around 0.4%-0.6% depending on the rules; our table games page breaks down which rules cost you. Baccarat’s banker bet at 1.06% is the simplest low-edge bet in the building. Avoid the tie at 8:1, which carries a 14.36% edge.

Stakes and limits

Live tables have a real minimum, because a seat at a real table has a cost. Limits are set per casino and per table, so treat these as typical, not fixed:

Table type Typical min Typical max
Infinite Blackjack (Evolution) $1 $5,000
Standard 7-seat blackjack $5-$25 $5,000
VIP blackjack $50-$100 $10,000
Salon Privé (Evolution) $500+ $25,000+
Game shows $0.10-$0.50 a round Varies

Sources: published live table limits, compiled October 2026.

Game shows are the low-stakes way in, and Infinite Blackjack is typically the cheapest seat at a real-card table.

Live casino and bonus wagering

This is where live casino falls down for bonus players. We read the contribution tables at four Canadian-facing casinos:

Casino Live casino weighting
Jackpot City Not listed (treat as not counting)
Grizzly’s Quest Not listed (treat as not counting)
Casino Classic 2%
V.Vegas Excluded

Sources: each casino’s published bonus terms, read October 2026.

At 2%, every C$100 you bet on a live table clears C$2 of wagering. A C$1,000 wagering target would need C$50,000 in live bets. Jackpot City’s terms also say that playing games that don’t count before you finish wagering can void winnings.

The practical route: clear any bonus on slots that count 100%, using our slots page and the wagering calculator, then play live with withdrawable cash. Our wagering requirements guide explains weighting in full. If you’re after a bonus that doesn’t fight live play, a wager-free bonus or cash cashback is the better fit.

Picking a live casino

Look for three things in a review: whether the casino lists Evolution or Pragmatic Play Live in its studios, the table limits that match your stake, and the payout speed once you win. Fast cashiers matter more here, since live play usually happens with cash rather than bonus funds; our fast payout casinos page ranks the quickest published times. Crypto players can compare live lobbies on crypto casinos, and LeoVegas is worth a look if you’d rather play under a Malta Gaming Authority licence.

FAQ

What is the RTP of Crazy Time?

Evolution publishes 96.08% for Crazy Time, which puts the house edge at about 3.9%. Per-bet estimates run 96.06%-96.08%. Its top multiplier is listed at 20,000x. Like every game show, results swing hard, so treat the RTP as a long-run average.

Which live casino game has the lowest house edge?

Among the live games we compared, blackjack with basic strategy and Lightning Blackjack sit around 1% or less, and the banker bet in baccarat is 1.06%. Game shows run higher, from about 2.7% on Lightning Roulette to 9.19% on Dream Catcher's 40 segment.

Can I clear a casino bonus on live dealer games?

Usually not efficiently. In the terms we read, live casino counted 2% at Casino Classic, was excluded at V.Vegas and wasn't listed at Jackpot City or Grizzly's Quest, which means treat it as not counting. Clear bonuses on slots, then play live with cash.

Not at the casinos we list. Ontario and Alberta run their own regulated markets, and our casinos serve players aged 19 or over in the rest of Canada.
