How welcome bonuses work
A welcome bonus is a deposit match with a playthrough attached. Say a casino offers 100% up to €500 at 35x on the bonus. Deposit €100, and €100 in bonus funds lands next to it. Before that bonus, and anything you win with it, turns into withdrawable cash, you need to bet 35 times the bonus amount: 35 x €100 = €3,500.
Two details change that number more than any headline does. First, what the multiplier applies to. “35x (B)” means the bonus only; “30x (D+B)” means your deposit plus the bonus, which doubles the base on a 100% match. Second, the match percentage against the deposit you’ll really make. A 450% match multiplies your bets just as hard as it multiplies your balance.
🧮 Bets needed to clear each welcome bonus
Total wagering needed on a €100 deposit (or the free cash), shortest first.
Calculated from each bonus's published match, cap and wagering. Lower means faster to clear.
The chart puts every offer on the same footing: a €100 deposit (or the minimum, where that’s higher), the published match and cap, and the published wagering. Shorter bars clear faster.
Same brand, different country
Each card here is one country’s offer, and a brand that serves several countries can run very different terms in each. Slotrave is the clearest case on our list. In Austria its package runs up to €2,500 plus 150 free spins over four deposits, from a €10 minimum. In Ireland the headline is the same, but the minimum is €20 and a €5 max bet applies while the bonus is live. Both carry 40x on the bonus. Your browser shows the version for where you are; the Austria and Ireland welcome pages list each country’s full set.
Big caps vs real value
Headline caps make great banners and mostly irrelevant maths. A €7,500 cap only matters if you deposit enough to reach it; on €100 you get the match percentage, not the cap.
🔥 The biggest headline caps
Maximum bonus money per casino. Free spins (FS) shown on top.
Headline caps from published terms. Bigger is not better on its own - check the wagering chart too.
If you’ll really deposit four figures, the cap matters - read the per-deposit limits, because “up to €3,000 over 3 deposits” rarely means €1,000 a step. For everyone else, the first chart is the one to trust.
⚠️ What to check before you claim
The wagering base. Bonus-only or deposit plus bonus. 711 Casino, Urho, Fyrkka and SpinSkull in Finland, Bison and MyStake in Austria and Wild Tokyo in Ireland all count the deposit too.
The max bet. Most offers that publish one cap it at €5 a spin; Bison and Lemon Casino in Austria cap it at €2. Break it once and the casino can void the bonus and the winnings.
The clock. Boho Casino and Mino Casino in Austria and Wild Tokyo in Ireland give five days. 711 Casino’s Finnish offer gives 180.
Game weighting. Slots usually count 100%. Tables and live games often count 10% or nothing.
Withdrawal caps. BetVictor’s Irish offer caps what you can withdraw from the bonus at €750.
Wagering spread across reports. PIKE’s Austrian package is reported anywhere from 30x on the bonus to 60x on deposit plus bonus. Read the terms before opting in.
Our top picks, explained
NetBet (Ireland) has the lightest wagering on the list: 10x on the bonus, and the up-to-100 spins carry no wagering at all. A €100 bonus needs €1,000 in bets - at a 96% RTP that’s roughly €40 of expected cost against €100 of bonus. The catch: the bonus is tiered by deposit, and the top tier needs €400. Its casino runs on a Malta licence.
711 Casino (Finland) matches 100% up to €711 with 30 spins, and gives 180 days to clear 30x on deposit plus bonus. That’s €6,000 of bets on €100, so it’s slow value, but the bonus is non-sticky: your own money plays first. It holds a Malta licence, so winnings are currently tax-free for Finnish residents under the EEA rule.
Videoslots (Ireland) keeps it small: 100% up to €200 plus 11 spins at 35x on the bonus, released in 10% steps as you wager, so part of the bonus becomes usable early. It reports payouts within an hour and a lobby of 9,000+ games.
Slotrave (Austria and Ireland) is the pick for a long package: up to €2,500 and 150 spins over four deposits at 40x on the bonus. Our record shows a Kahnawake licence, but sources disagree on its licence details, so check the footer before you deposit.
20Bet (Austria) is the easy-to-read option: 100% up to €120 plus 120 spins from €10, at 40x on the bonus with a €5 max bet. Its Curaçao licence is still listed as under assessment.
Country notes
Finland, Ireland and Austria all set 18 as the minimum age. No brand on this page holds a casino licence in any of the three: Finland and Austria run monopolies, and Ireland opens casino licensing around 2027. In Finland, winnings are tax-free only from casinos with an EU/EEA licence, such as Malta or Estonia. In Austria, a reform bill asks unlicensed operators to leave the market from 1 January 2027, so some packages may disappear. Players in Canada aged 19 or over, outside Ontario and Alberta, have their own C$ welcome bonuses.
It's the offer a casino gives new players on their first deposit, or spread across the first few. Most are deposit matches - the casino adds a percentage of what you pay in as bonus funds - often with free spins on top. The bonus has to be wagered a set number of times before it can be withdrawn.
Which welcome bonus is the best value?
The one with the lowest total bets for the deposit you actually plan to make. On a €100 deposit, a 100% match at 35x on the bonus means €3,500 in bets; the same match at 30x on deposit plus bonus means €6,000. The chart on this page ranks every offer on exactly that.
Why is the welcome offer different in my country?
Casinos set welcome terms market by market. Slotrave's package starts from a €10 deposit in Austria and €20 in Ireland, where a €5 max bet also applies. Each card shows one country's offer, and your browser hides the ones your country can't claim.
What does 'over 3 deposits' mean?
The headline total is split across several deposits, each with its own match and cap. You can stop after the first one; you just won't collect the rest of the package. The first deposit's match is often not a third of the total, so read the ladder in the terms.
What is a non-sticky bonus?
Your own deposit plays first, and the bonus only kicks in once your cash balance is gone. If you win early, you can withdraw and drop the bonus. 711 Casino's Finnish offer and Lemon Casino's Austrian offer are both described as non-sticky.
Do slots and table games count the same toward wagering?
No. Slots usually count 100%. Table and live games often count 10% or nothing - TonyBet's Irish offer excludes table, live and crash games, and 888's Irish offer counts tables at 10%. Check the weighting table in the bonus terms before you pick a game.
